Preset ute power Ram 1500 REV at ‘maximum capacity’
Initial reservation for 2024 RAM 1500 REPLACEMENTS closed just five days after they opened during this year’s Super Bowl.
As originally reported by electricitythe company is no longer accepting any fully refundable US$100 ($A145) pre-orders so you can pre-order early access.
Ram says they did this due to “high demand”. It’s unclear how many bookings were made over the five-day period and if they would reopen at a later date. It’s also unclear when the actual pre-orders will open.
As noted above, the RAM 1500 REPLACEMENTS was previewed at this year’s Super Bowl before debuting in the fourth quarter of 2024 in the United States.
While the company hasn’t released full specs yet, Ram has confirmed the 1500 REV will feature an unspecified electrical outlet, while with vehicle-to-load, car-to-house, and vehicle-to-vehicle charging. The RamBox storage compartments are also visible.
Its look is softer than 1500 . Ram Revolution Concept was revealed in January, and inside and out it has a clear design relationship to the internal combustion engine (ICE). 1500.
Indeed, its relationship with its ICE partner is like Ford F-150 And Lightning F-150 than Chevrolet Silverado And Silverado electric car.
There’s a slimmer grille area at the front compared to the regular 1500, with a flat panel branded Ram. The LED daytime running lights are serial from the headlight cluster to this dashboard.
The bonnet has an electric dome, on the side there is a REV logo.
Down the rear, the taillights connect to the rear doors and have a similar shape to the concept, but overall the lights look less aerodynamic than the concept.
Inside, there’s a large, vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system and plenty of physical switches for the audio system and climate control.
A digital instrument cluster sits in front of the driver, while on the passenger side there’s another display – a feature Stellantis has introduced previously on models like Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 1500 REV will serve as Ram’s entry into an increasingly crowded segment, competing with the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Ford F-150 Lightning and GMC Sierra Electric Scooter.
Other electric pickups include the more off-road-oriented GMC Hummer EV and the smaller Rivian R1T, while Tesla e-car still the elephant in the room – or rather not in the room, because it has not yet been released.
The 1500 REV will use Stellantis’ STLA Frame body-on-frame architecture, which the company previously confirmed will support 159-200kWh batteries and feature electric motors, each producing between 150kW and 330kW.
Stellantis has also introduced a range of up to 800km on STLA Frame vehicles.
As for the Australian launch opportunity of the Ram 1500 REV, a spokesperson for local Ram distributor Ateco said last April that it was “working with our colleagues at Ram Trucks in the US and are tracking a number of vehicles suitable for the Australian market. “.
