CG says:
After a mild refresh for 2021, the Jaguar F-Type range will be down for 2022, as both the 4-cylinder and V6 engines are discontinued. The new base engine is a supercharged V8 that makes 444 hp and can be found in a new trim level called the P450. The only engine available is the 575hp supercharged 5.0-liter V8 of the R trim level. The F-Type’s styling was updated last year with new slim LED headlights and subtly changed exterior metal panels, along with a high-definition virtual instrument cluster in the cabin. The suspension has also been revised. The F-Type is a coupe and convertible for two passengers with front, rear or all-wheel drive. Jaguar claims the high-performance R has a top speed of 186 mph and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The P450 RWD model comes standard with six-way power seats. The P450 R-Dynamic AWD model adds 12-way power seats with memory function, an electrically adjustable steering wheel with memory function and unique decorative borders. Available features include automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, driver attention monitoring, rear cross-traffic monitoring, ceramic brakes, heated/cooled seats and assist. parallel parking. The F-Type is a sports car that truly revives the spirit of classic Jaguar coupes and roadsters of the 1960s. The R-Dynamic is perhaps the best value, with most of the R’s performance and manners. similar processing. While the loss of four-cylinder and V6 models leaves F-Type buyers with fewer options, the new P450 V8 models are competitively priced lower than discontinued V6 models. The F-Type remains an attractive alternative to rivals BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Jaguar F-Type 2022 impresses on the road. Well, horsepower numbers don’t impress us as much as they did a few years ago, especially when super-fast electric cars hit the market. And, the infotainment system interface feels dated, and the touchscreen looks tiny by modern standards. All that said, we don’t really care much. The F-Type is a car worth enjoying for powerful driving or simply touring around town. The body structure is impressively stiff for a convertible, and the cabin is club-like and inviting. Some of us get tired of the exhaust note – which is always quite loud – but the rest of us find it a charming part of the F-Type experience. Looking for something on the classic side of the sports car spectrum? Consider the F-Type.
