Rahul Gandhi renews attack on killing UP farmers

Congressman Rahul Gandhi on Thursday continued to attack young Interior Minister Ajay Mishra, calling him a “criminal” and repeating his demands for his resignation.
“The minister must resign. He’s a criminal,” Gandhi said amid massive conflict, shouting and general chaos in the Lok Sabha, which had the House adjourned until 2pm.
Gandhi also led opposition charges on Wednesday of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accusing him of shielding the minister.
“It is said that it (the Lakhimpur Kheri case) is a conspiracy. Obviously it is. Everyone knows whose son is involved. We want the minister to resign. We want to discuss it in parliament. . But the Prime Minister refused. They made excuses,” he told reporters inside Parliament.
Ajay Mishra, a junior minister in Prime Minister Modi’s government, is facing new demands for his resignation after farmers were run over by a convoy of cars at UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri. on October 3.
Ashish Mishra, his son Mishra is the defendant; He is believed to have gotten at the wheel of one of the vehicles in the convoy. Police said the farmers’ deaths were part of a “planned conspiracy”.
Police investigating the incident have called for a new charge of “intentional murder” rather than “death by negligence” against Ashish Mishra, who has been in prison since October.
