Rakesh Jhunjhunwala signs airline backing contract with engine maker CFM International
On Wednesday, billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, low-cost carrier Akasa Air said it had signed an agreement with CFM International for its LEAP-1B engines in a deal worth nearly $4.5 billion. at list prices to power the 737 MAX planes they recently purchased.
Akasa Air, backed by Jhunjhunwala, placed an order for 72 Boeing 737 MAX planes on Tuesday, worth nearly $9 billion at list prices.
