Ravens take playoff spot with win over Falcons, loss to Patriots
BALTIMORE — The Ravens once again made it to the knockout stages, but they did it without the star midfielder lamar Jackson.
With Jackson (sprained knee) missing the third game in a row, the Ravens won a post-season stop with a win 17-9 via Atlanta Falcon on Saturday, relying on a strong game and a stingy defence.
Team Raven (10-4) didn’t know they had won the knockout round as soon as their match was over. Baltimore had to wait a few more minutes until New England Patriots falling Cincinnati Bengals 22-18.
This marks the first time Baltimore has won a playoff spot without Jackson in the starting quarterback since they did so with Joe Flacco in 2014.
It was another tough game for offense without Jackson, who only scored two touchdowns in three games without the 2019 NFL MVP. Team Raven had enough from their running game, ran 184 yards on the ground. Tyler HuntleyJackson’s namesake, was 9 out of 17 for 115 yards and one touchdown.
While Raven’s attack struggled, their defense continued to be restrained. Baltimore stepped up to stop Atlanta in fourth and scored a goal from the 1-yard line in the fourth half. This is the third time in the past six games that the Baltimore defense has not allowed a touch of the ball.
The Crows can still take the AFC North if they win. Their last two matches were against Pittsburgh Steelworker at home and at the Cincinnati Bengals in the finale.
