Recalling many Land Rover and Range Rover models because of potential fire risk
Jaguar Land Rover Australia remembering 205 examples its Land Rover discover And defender And Range Rover, Range Rover SportAnd Range Rover Velar because a leak in the camshaft drive oil can cause a car fire.
This recall affects Discover, defender, Range Rover, Range Rover SportAnd velar examples produced between 2022 and 2023.
“Due to manufacturing issues, the camshaft bearing oil collection may not have been drilled to specification,” the company said in its recall notice.
“This can cause external oil or waste oil to leak into the engine’s intake system. Oil leaks in the presence of an ignition source can lead to a vehicle fire.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you should contact your nearest authorized Land Rover dealer to schedule a free camshaft inspection and replacement if necessary.
