“The boxers have personal issues, and they go out and fight better than ever because they have different mentality. Teofimo is a wonderful person. He’s also a good boxer, so I’d love to see him play well, be healthy and do the right thing.
“There can be better training camps and better training partners. I know he has a great management team. I know who they are. They’re great, but I think it has to be done in the gym.
“A lot of times, it’s the person who’s talking to him. A coach is not only a coach, but sometimes you need to be a psychologist. “The coach also needs to know how to deal with things like that. You can’t just go and train. You have to know that there is a life out there that makes a big difference.

“I don’t want to be one of those people who say that’s what he needs to do, but trying something different isn’t a bad idea either. Maybe bring someone in. Someone new will help. It might help,” Robert said of Teofimo needing a new coach to come and help.

“I think Anthony Joshua is a great athlete. He called me and told me he was going to the United States to look around. I have no problem with that. I said to him, ‘That’s the best thing you can do,'” Robert said of Anthony Joshua telling him he was going to the United States to look for a new coach.
“I said from day one that the best thing he could do was train in the US, and from what I understand, that’s what he’s going to do. If I’m not mistaken, I think he’ll end up with Derrick James.
“He is a good coach, especially if Anthony is going to come and coach around Errol Spence, [Jermell] Charlo, and the new kid he has, Frank Martin. They are very, very talented fighters.
“I’ve been saying that since leaving England to come back to the United States, I’ve said to the team, ‘That’s what Anthony needs. Surrounded by real warriors, real training camps.’ So bad. I would love for him to come to Riverside and continue training with me.
“I don’t blame him either. I keep working, I’m really busy with all my warriors. [Joshua] Franco just had a** lousy performance in Tokyo [against Kuzoto Ioka]. I have Bam fighting in April and Jose Ramirez fighting in March.
“I continue to be really busy, but it would be a lot easier for me, if Anthony would come to Riverside and join my training camp and do training with Jose, with Bam, with Josh. Mikey will still be here. It would be great.
“It’s the same if he trains with Derrick James. If he chooses there. He will be around warriors like Charlo. You cannot get any better. So for him to make the decision to train in the United States, it was the best decision he could make.
“So far, I told everyone before I left, and it happened. They are being trained in the United States. That is the beginning. That’s great. It was the best they could do. Looks like they’re going to have an extra time, and that’s another thing I told them.
Robert said of Joshua: “They brought me in to prepare him for a fight with Usyk, who he obviously lost in the previous fight. “So they put me at a very difficult time to train him for Usyk, who by weight is one of the best boxers in the world. So it’s very difficult.
“I’ve been telling everyone that Anthony needs to come back with two or three matches to adjust and get him ready before chasing the title. Until then, who knows? Maybe the titles will be left blank because if Fury & Usyk fight, the winner will most likely retire.
“They will make hundreds of millions of dollars. So maybe the winner retires, then there are titles left vacant. So Anthony Joshua will 100% fight for the vacant belt.
“That is what I advised them, and that seems to be the direction they are going. I think that’s the best they can do to be the three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
“Two or three adjustment battles in the meantime. Let Fury & Usyk fight each other, and maybe the winner will leave the titles blank. That’s a perfect idea. It was the perfect timing, and it would have been my choice if I were the one in charge of handling his career. But so far, it looks like he’s headed in that direction,” Robert said.
