Rogue Millennium will be added to The Oaks
Rogue Millennium (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), who won May 7 SBK Oaks Trial Fillies Listed ‘S., will be added to G1 Cazoo Oaks on June 3, coach Tom Clover confirmed. The Group 3 winner’s daughter Hawaafez (GB) (Nayef) was bred by the late Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Estate and the owner of the Rogues Gallery will pay £30,000 of the additional entry fees needed to participate in the Epsom Downs display competition. The petite baguette, purchased for just 35,000g during the Tattersalls December Sale in 2021, won at Wetherby’s launch last month.
Clover said, “Rogue Millennium is a lovely girl who deserves a chance to have her in the Oaks and now has great plans to go to Epsom. We discussed it several times and both the owner and I wanted to go there.
“For any young trainer to have a horse like hers bred by Sheikh Hamdan to lead the Oaks family is very special. Sheikh Hamdan is part of the legacy of the sport and he had a lot of success with my late father-in-law, Michael Jarvis, including winning the Oaks with Eswarah (GB) (Unfuwain) ) [in 2005].
“Having the opportunity to train the Oaks bulls from the same place where Sheikh Hamdan won the race with my late father-in-law Michael Jarvis was really exciting.
“I don’t believe we went there simply to have a runner-up but because we had a chance. I hope she can make both us and The Rogues Gallery team proud.”
Clover added, “Having a runner in the Classics is something new for us and now the focus is on getting the trashes out there in the best possible shape we have. body. It’s exciting but we just want a smooth ride.”
