Via Dan Ambrose: Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero says that Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis resembles a “T-Rex” with a “short arm” and that he will take him down on May 28 when the two fight on Showtime at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Rolly (14-0, 12 KOs) believes his power and size advantages will be too much for the ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Tank to handle for this bout.
The bookies think Tank is the favorite for this fight, but Rolly doesn’t seem too worried about that. He thinks he’ll use his size to overpower the shorter 5’5 1/2″ Tank in this matchup.
During their recent press conference on April 7, kt Rolly 5’8 ″ overtook Tank in their head-to-head match and made him look furious.
When you watch Tank, you can tell that he’s clearly preoccupied with all the things Rolly has to say about him, especially with his comments about him being “stupid”.
If kt Rolly messes with Tank, he will make a lot of money in the rematch if he agrees to that. Rolly would be better off getting Tank’s WBA title and then facing the winner in an undisputed match on June 5 between unified champion George Kambosos Jr. and WBC champion Devin Haney.
“Honestly, I couldn’t understand what he was saying, but it sounded insulting, so neither should you,” Rolly Romero told Against TV Hub about Gervonta Davis.
“No, no, no, it’s personal. I want to look him in the face because I don’t like the way he looks, I don’t like the way he acts, I don’t like what he stands for,” Rolly continued.
“I’ll f*** Up from the first round, non-stop and he’ll be knocked out in one round. I just said one round. He won’t hit me because his arms are as short as f***. He looks like af*** T-Rex.
“They just stood there dumbfounded,” Rolly said when informed that Gervonta was able to beat his past opponents. “There are no special game plans. I will lead him down, and it will be a walk to hell.
“He is a little mother f****. What do you mean, “Big mission,” Rolly said when told that the Davis Tank was a “big mission” for him.
“Look, Devin Haney is a lousy breed. He should just quit boxing before someone gets hurt because he has a weak genetic makeup and his jaw is very questionable. I don’t think Devin is his son because Devin is as bad as an asshole.
“Nobody cares about that fight,” Rolly said when asked about his views on the June 5 undisputed lightweight bout between Haney and George Kambosos.
“The only things they have in Australia are kangaroos and koalas. I don’t like koalas, and I don’t like kangaroos either. They’re as ugly as an asshole,” said Rolly.
