Sam Elliott Apologizes For Comments About The Dog’s Strength
Sam Elliott is putting his tail between his legs.
The 77-year-old actor apologized for controversial comment he did about the movie The power of the dog above Marc Maron‘S WTF audio file last month.
“I told the WTF podcaster that I think Jane Campion is an excellent director, and I would like to apologize to the cast of The power of the dogall excellent actors,” he said on April 10 in Limit lineContenders TV events. “And special Benedict Cumberbatch. I can only say I’m sorry and so am I. I am.”
In one of his soft words, Elliot admitted he was not “well-versed” in Share your thoughts on the West and felt “terrible” about the way his remarks were made, especially with the gay community.
“I’ve said some things that hurt people and I feel terrible about it,” he said. “The gay community has been amazing to me my entire career. And I mean my entire career, from before I started in this town. Friends of all levels and every job description to this day.”
