San Diego Police Hunt for Suspect Who Fatally Shoved Man Into Oncoming Train at Old Town Transit Center
San Diego police are looking for an accused male suspect jostling a man into an oncoming freight train Saturday morning, killing the middle-aged victim in an unprovoked attack.
The two men were walking on the platform at the Old Town Transit Center after they both got off a trolley headed south around 6 a.m., Lieutenant Andra Brown said. San Diego Union Tribune. The victim, about 60 years old and unnamed, crashed into the side of a moving ship and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, the suspect fled the area on foot and is described as thin, dressed in black and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. Police are investigating the incident and are reviewing the security footage.
One month ago, a woman seriously injured at the same station when she was hit by the Amtrak train. There was no foul play, however, as officials said she was seated on the edge of the platform, with her legs dangling over the edge.
