Thanks to a partnership between The Galeries and Australian Red Cross, the centre is providing a place where people can donate any unwanted presents that can then be passed on to those who would really love them, as part of the amazing work that Australian Red Cross does with those in need.

Christmas is about giving, and you won’t leave empty-handed, either. Bringing in a donation of suitable goods will earn you a $20 gift voucher for use within The Galeries.
So, you can turn that set of four coffee mugs that would just gather dust at the back of your cupboard into that book from Kinokuniya that no one got you. Or let that vase that you don’t really have room for help go towards some cool stationery from Muji you’ve been eyeing off for weeks. Perhaps a $20 voucher could justify that pretty purchase from Gorman that will suit you much better than the best-selling novel that you already own.

This year, The Galeries is curating a very special, immersive Christmas tree that will be a sight to behold! And the tree is not just about looking fabulously festive and being a backdrop for your seasonal selfies (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).
It’s also here you can bring in any of those presents that you would like to give to someone else via Australian Red Cross and help their Christmas become a little bit brighter. With Australians estimated to be spending around $66 billion at this time of year, paying gifts forward is the perfect way to share some festive cheer around.
Why Australian Red Cross?
Put simply, Australian Red Cross makes real changes to people’s lives. They come to the rescue of those who may have arrived in this country as refugees without any possessions or have had to vacate their homes due to natural disasters.
Due to many varied circumstances, plenty of people often find themselves with very little more than the clothes they’re wearing. Australian Red Cross provides support and reassurance to let people in the community know they’re not alone – especially at Christmas.
