Sarah Harding: Former members of the band Girls Aloud pay tribute to the singer on her 40th birthday | News about Ant-Man & Art
Former bandmates Sarah Harding paid tribute to the late Girls Aloud star on the singer’s 40th birthday.
Singer Fight For This Love Cheryl posted a video on her Instagram page that has many clips of girl group naughties and Harding at live concerts, award shows, and talk shows.
Harding passed away after a constant battle with breast cancer, on September 5 at the age of 39.
She revealed in August 2020 that she had been diagnosed with the disease, which had spread to other parts of her body.
Cheryl captioned the video: “Memories may be all we have left, but they are enough to last a lifetime #Sarahs40.”
The video also features some interviews with Girls Aloud bandmates Cheryl and Kimberley Walsh about their friends and colleagues.
“Seeing this blonde running around like a madwoman, even in training camp when she was singing, she ran up there and chatted, chatted, chatted,” Walsh said.
Cheryl adds: “(She) has always stood out as her own character, a crazy person, unique and in her own world.”
Girls Aloud formed in 2002 on the TV show Popstars: The Rivals, and featured Harding, Cheryl – then Cheryl Tweedy – Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts.
Roberts also paid tribute on Instagram, saying: “Happy Birthday to Earth Sarah. Love, miss and always think of you.
“I feel your energy as if you were still here. Wish we could run around town like we did for your big 4.0 today!
“Cause a supernova on that electric girl.”
Other stars such as actress Michelle Gayle and singer-songwriter Talia Dean also sent emotional messages.
