Raider X is a concept for a fast, agile and survivable complex coaxial helicopter. The new helicopter is designed for the US Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) program.
Through the U.S. Army’s FARA program, Raider X pioneers the Service’s revolutionary approach to rapidly developing and delivering game-changing technology and combat capabilities, equipped for the harshest and harshest environments. Raider X provides the reach, protection, and damage needed to win future conflicts.
The Army required an aircraft capable of operating in complex airspaces and degraded environments against its peers and near-peer with an advanced integrated air defense system. The current aviation fleet does not have dedicated aircraft to conduct armed reconnaissance, light attack and security with improved lethality and non-lethal capabilities from a platform sized to hide in radar clutter and for the urban canyons of big cities.
