Slow Andy Upsets Messier in Los Alamitos Futurity
Paul and Zillah Reddam, California’s top breeders for the past three years, brought the California hybrid Slow down Andy arrived at Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on December 11 and was defeated Messier , favorite 1-2. Slow down Andy got out of the thoroughbred mare Reddam Edwina E , a daughter of now has been written Square Eddie . The majority of the Reddams’ California crossbreeds over the past few years go directly back to Square Eddie, who has been selectively breeding many runners.
Edwina E made four ponies, three winners, and with Saturday’s success, now two stake winners. The pony wasn’t caged in one of her longing ponies I will have another , another Derby winner for Eddie’s Slowing Connection.
Slow Down Andy earned 10 qualifying points with the Futurity installment of the Road to the Kentucky Derby series and placed fourth Durante , also coached by O’Neill, picked up a point. Two Baffert cadets did not accumulate any points under the rules set forth by Churchill Downs Inc. introduced to prevent horses trained by suspended trainers from counting points in their streak. As a track owner, CDI has suspended Baffert from its tracks until mid-2023.
