Sony buys Bungie – What is the future beyond the destiny of Studio?
The game IP arms race continues today when Sony has acquired acclaimed developer Bungie at a whopping $3.6 billion. But what does that mean for Destiny fans and the industry at large? Join us on this video discussion as we talk about all that and more.

We begin by discussing the details of the agreement as we know it now, including how Bungie is maintaining her independence. The studio has said that they can still self-publish and choose where their games can be released. The studio’s blog post also outlines that the goal is to keep the Destiny communities intact and not strip the game of Xbox users now or in the future.
While we may know the immediate plans for one of the biggest franchises in the game, what about the future? Bungie is working on new projects, but will they be exclusive to PlayStation in the future? Bungie saidin fact, “We want the world we’re creating to expand to everywhere people play the game. We’ll continue to be self-published, creatively independent, and we’ll continue to push the envelope.” promote a unified Bungie community.” Xbox fans can sleep well, at least tonight.
