The never-ending squabble between Microsoft and Sony, regarding the company’s previous attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard King, brings a new bright spot every day. Yesterday we had Microsoft claims that they have trashy exclusive titles compared to Sonyand today Sony just raised its voice dissect EA battlefield franchise in an attempt to prove how much better call of duty performances.
It’s all part of an ongoing effort to prove that one of the world’s biggest console makers shouldn’t own one of the biggest game publishers in the world, which—you know —sounds like a bad idea. But as Sony and Microsoft continually lower themselves and others in an attempt to win the Who’s the Worst debate, nothing seems sacred at all. Hence the startling statement of PlayStation owners to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that EA battlefield would be a poor replacement if it lost access to call of duty Franchising.
