Spy x Family episode 6: Anya punches a bully and inspires meme

It’s no secret that Anya Forger is the undisputed star of Spy x Family. The gripping new action and comedy series follows the Forgers, and from the outside, they look like any other family. But in reality, each has their own secret: The daughter, Anya Forger, is a mind-reading psychic; the mother, Yor Forger, is an assassin; and the father, Loid Forger, is a spy. In the latest episode, Anya punches her elementary school bully – and the moment has inspired a wave of hilarious memes and fan art that shed light on the moment.

In Spy x Family, Loid is on a top secret mission called Operation Strix. He must establish contact with the president of a national political party, Donovan Desmond, in order to maintain peace between the neighboring countries of Westalis and Ostania. In Loid’s plan, he creates a fake family and through Anya to send her to the extremely elite Eden Academy in an attempt to get closer to the Desmond family, who have close ties to the school.

In the latest episode, “The Friendship Scheme”, Anya finally has her first day of school. The shrewd young lady has much to contend with; Before attending this elite school, she lived in a rundown orphanage. Anxious to go to school, Anya asks her battle-savvy mother to teach her how to fight. Meanwhile, the mission seems to be going according to plan, as Loid secretly arranges for Anya to be placed in the same class as Damian Desmond, the target’s son. However, on the first day of school, Damian and his friends bully Anya and call her a farmer because she doesn’t come from a super rich family.

At first, Anya held back. But after they threw a crumpled piece of paper at her in the hall and Damian said he would bully her every day, Anya delivered a superior punch strong enough to make Saitama proud.

She really knows how to throw a punch, and people totally live for it, making memes pop right from the latest episode as well as Anya and Damian’s relationship. Just one edited clip of the show has been viewed more than four million times on TikTok. The edit shows a crumpled piece of paper hitting Anya, and then she punches Damian.

Anya’s expression alone carried the whole show. And in this episode, she debuted her “heh” face, which has inspired countless fan art.

This is a reference to a old memes which makes fun of a WikiHow article, “How to Boost Your Social Status at School” and just shows Anya doing an assertive T in front of Damian.
