Stable DJ to match donations for new vocals
Vocations’ new racehorse adoption program has announced that longtime supporter DJ Stable, LLC will contribute all GivingTuesday donations to the program, up to $25,000, to support equine care retired racers.
This year GivingTuesday — a global movement that encourages people around the world to give, collaborate, and celebrate philanthropy — takes place on November 30.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with this wonderful organization,” said DJ Stable, LLC General Manager Jonathan Green. “For many years, our horses have benefited from being placed in the New Vocations aftercare program, which has motivated us to provide a matching fund for the first $25,000 paid. donations during the giveaway. We hope others will follow our lead and donate to New Vocations.”
As a non-profit organization, New Vocations relies almost entirely on support from donors to carry out its mission to rehabilitate, retrain and retool retired racehorses. The program has placed more than 7,500 horses in nursing homes, full of experiences since it began operating in 1992, and demand for the program’s aftercare services continues to grow after a record year.
“We are grateful to DJ Stable, LLC and the Green family for seeing the importance of aftercare and supporting our mission,” said Anna Ford, New Vocations Thoroughbred Program Manager. “Thanks to their generosity, we were able to raise over $50,000 by December 1, which will have a significant impact on our retired racehorses’ journey to the their next chapter. The more we raise funds, the more we can find new horses, new homes, new purposes, and new beginnings.”
