“The Center will not decide to repeal the farm law if …”: Sharad Pawar
Pune:
The BJP-led central government will not decide to repeal the three controversial farm laws without elections scheduled in Uttar Pradesh and other states in the near future, said Sharad Pawar, head of state. The Nationalist Party (NCP) today alleges.
Last Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of three agricultural laws that are facing stiff opposition on the Delhi border and elsewhere.
Speaking to reporters in the Satara district of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar affirmed that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra would complete its full five-year term and expressed confidence that if the elections are held immediately Now, the tripartite alliance will once again be in power.
“There are elections in UP and other nearby states. According to our information, the people in power, when they visited villages in some parts of these states, they received a reception. Local people’s preferences are different Considering this, they can have Sharad Pawar tell them how they will be treated when looking for votes.
“Without elections in these states in the near future, this decision will not be made,” he added.
Asked about the reported comment by BJP Chief Maharashtra Chandrakant Patil that the state government will change in the new year, Mr. Pawar said that after the MVA government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Parliament was formed two years ago, A similar statement was made that it would crash after 15 days.
“But then people heard it was going to fall in a month, two months, three months, etc,” he said.
“Since Chandrakant Patil has time, he is trying his hand at astrology and on the basis of that he has to come to such a conclusion. Let him enjoy it. However, this government will complete it. into a five-year term and if we decide to go together in the polls, it (the MVA coalition) will once again come to power”, the head of the NCP affirmed.
Regarding the actions of central authorities in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar said it is not a new thing.
“I recently met West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee. There are six to seven ministers from her government who are currently being harassed by central authorities. I will meet her in Mumbai in the next few days.”
He added that the BJP government at the Center has taken a stance of “harassing” non-BJP states using the agencies and the same is happening in Maharashtra.
He added: “Let them conduct the investigations.
Sharad Pawar said he was shocked after reading about former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh submitting to the court that there was a threat to his life in Maharashtra.
“What if a person who has held many key positions in the Maharashtra police department says that he is afraid of his colleagues and the state police,” he added.
