Subaru is gearing up for the Tokyo Auto Salon in January with a range of vehicles on display, including some hints about the production version.
The company’s Japanese website is a bit lacking in details, but the company promises to show off the new Impreza – debuted last November in LA – to a Japanese audience for the first time.

New Impreza
The new Impreza retains its signature four-wheel drive system and will be available with a 2.5-liter boxer-four producing around 136kW and 241Nm, mated to a CVT transmission with paddle shifters.
It’s unclear if the show car’s STI tuning will produce more power, but hopefully the upgrades will improve handling.

It’s unclear if it previews a production car, though we do suggest there’s an audience for a solid small SUV – the Crosstrek keeps AWD as standard unlike most of its competition.
Other vehicles for display include a show car based on the Levorg STI Sport R EX, which offers “improved handling stability and a higher quality ride” and is expected to be sold in limited quantities – although where is still unknown.
There are also several race cars including the BRZ-based GT300 and the WRX-based NBR Challenge car, both illustrated below.
