tejashwi: Nitish to meet Tejashwi at iftar, second time in 6 days | India News
PATNA: Amid speculation of a political reorganization in Bihar, Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to meet opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and other family members of chief RJD Lalu Prasad at an iftar hosted by his team, JD(U), on Thursday.
JD (U) sent out an official invitation on Wednesday with the name of Lalu, his wife and former CM Rabri Devi, Tejashwi and some other family members. Tejashwi will attend iftar held at Haj Bhavan in Patna. “Nitish will be present as the main guest at iftar on Thursday,” JD(U) said in a press statement.
Before that, on April 22, Nitish attended iftar organized by former CM Rabri Devi and her son Tejashwi at their bungalow No 10, Circular Road; it was his first visit in 5 years. Before that, Nitish went there in January 2017 to participate in Makar Sankranti ceremony.
“If Nitish and Tejashwi meet at JD(U)’s iftar, it will be their second meeting in six days,” a JD(U) politician said.
Meanwhile, JD(U) has also sent invitations to RJD state president Jagadanand Singh, former RJD state president Ramchandra Purbey and senior politicians Shivanand Tiwari and Shyam Rajak.
Lalu, being treated at AIIMS Delhi, is expected to be released from judicial supervision on Thursday but may not make it to Patna to attend the JD(U) iftar. Previously, Nitish attended iftar organized by Rabri on April 22.
