For most of Lamborghini’s history, the Italian supercar brand sold only a few hundred units a year. But this changed when Gallardo appeared in 2003 — the junior V-10 supercar sold just over 14,000 units during 10 years of production. This blew its predecessor, the running V-8 Jalpaabroad, only 410 Jalpas were sold between 1981 and 1988. But according to Gallardo, Huracánproved even more successful, and Lamborghini announced on Thursday that it has built the 20,000th V-10-powered supercar to enter production in 2014.

The 20,000th Huracán to roll in Sant’Agata Bolognese is a STOHigh-performance, track-focused version, inspired by Huracán EVO Super Trofeo Race car. This record-setting STO was finished in Grigio Acheso Matt paint for a client in Monaco.
With this announcement, Lamborghini has provided some details on how Huracán customers have ordered their supercar so far. 71% of Huracán owners opted for the coupe version, while the remaining 29% wanted the ability to go above and beyond to hear the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 sing better. The United States is Huracán’s largest market, with 32% of sales, with the UK and China completing the top three.
The vast majority of Huracans come with some form of personalization, with 60% of the 20,000 sold so far due to Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program. Lamborghini says that customers have drawn inspiration for colors, trim and materials from everything from furniture and clothing to makeup and gems. Central Europe, Japan and the UK are the largest markets for the Ad Personam division. With STO production underway and the recent introduction of Tecnica model, Huracán will continue to increase sales before plug-in hybrid model to launch in 2024.
