Pokémon go There’s a Squirtle Community Day Classic event on July 9 from 2-5pm your local time.

As expected with a Community Day event, squirrel will appear in large numbers with a high chance of it appearing shiny. There are also some other bonuses and perks that we list below.

How to catch a shiny Squirtle?

According to old research of the now defunct website The Silph Road (via Reverse camera), the odds of shiny on Community Day are around 1 in 25, which means that if you keep playing over the three-hour period, you’ll find quite a few shiny Pokémon.

If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, you can pop a Smellthen quickly touch each Squirtle to check the shiny ones, run from any non-shiny ones. Notably, any Squirtle you’ve touched will face where your player is standing, so that should help determine which ones you might have checked.

How to catch a Squirtle with sunglasses?

Squirtles wearing sunglasses will not spawn in the wild. According to Official page for Squirtle Community Day Classic from Nianticit will be obtained from the Field Research event.

The aforementioned study will only require you to catch a Squirtle to complete, so make sure to spin a PokéStop to get this research, if you want a turtle wearing sunglasses.

What moves did Squirtle’s evolution learn on Community Day?

If you evolve Wartortle into Blastoise between 2pm and 7pm your local time, it will learn the charged move Water cannon.

If you miss developing it at this stage, you can use a elite TM to get moving.

How does Blastoise work in the meta?

Blastoise is no longer the crop’s forte, but Mega Blastoise is currently one of the strongest water-type attackers around. If you absolutely plan on investing in Megas (which you should if possible), you should consider getting a powerful Blastoise and setting it up with Water gun And Water cannon.

Blastoise works pretty well in Ultra League, as it can be both cumbersome and set up with Hydro Cannon, one of the best moves in the game.

How to get the most out of Squirtle Community Day Classic?

The following rewards will be available in Squirtle Community Day Classic:

• ^first⁄₄ Hatching distance for eggs placed in the Incubator during the event
• Perfume lasts three hours
• Three-hour attraction module
• Squirtle photobomb special when taking snapshots

That said, you should definitely put all your eggs in the Incubator for the duration of the event and pop a Scent and try to grab some powerful Squirtles.

If you can super evolution Blastoise, Slowbro, Gyarados or Swampertyou will score more Squirtle Candy for each catch.
