The popular Call of Duty 4 map was accidentally left in the game
2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a huge success and many of its beloved maps continued to appear in sequels CoD items in the past 15 years. Classic, I’m sure you agree. But it turns out that one of the most popular (and smallest) maps in Modern War was only accidentally included after a developer forgot it was still in the game. Sorry!

Released in 2007, Infinity Ward’s CoD4: Modern Warfare was a huge hit and came out alongside classic maps like Strike, Crash, and Crossfire. However, while these maps were intentionally included in the game’s highly successful online multiplayer mode, it turned out that there was a Modern Warpopular maps of—consignment—introduced as a fun little accident.
The map is made up of shipping containers arranged into a tight, maze-like arena inside a flat, fenced landscape. It is easily the smallest and simplest map in the game, but people still cling to it due to the chaos that will erupt when a group of players run rampant through its narrow shortcuts and corridors. But if someone at Infinity Ward had just checked the game’s code one more time before launch, we might never have seen Shipment become so popular.

On May 14th, Dexerto Share the interesting story behind Shipment Directly from Infinity Ward Multiplayer Design Director, Geoff Smith. He calls the map the reason for his existence, explaining that it was originally intended only to be “a split-screen map, back then it was a thing”.

However, during the development of Modern Warfare, the small, intense map built entirely out of shipping containers became an internal test map and eventually found its way into other parts of the game, including its main playlist scripts. And then someone forgot it was there.
“Our multiplayer lead at the time, when we [shipped Modern Warfare]forgot to do something [pull] it’s out and there’s no going back. It was really an accident,” Smith admitted.
