There are no plans for The Last Of Us Show beyond the games
don’t expect Our Last The HBO show expands beyond the story of the two games in the series. That’s because The Last of Us game director Neil Druckmann says there are no plans for stories beyond games on this show.
This news comes from a new interview with Druckmann from hollywood reporteras reported by GameSpot. Here’s what Druckmann said CHEAP specifically: “We don’t plan to tell any stories other than adapting the game. We won’t have the same problems as Game of Thrones because The Last of Us Part: II doesn’t end. finished with a disruptor.”
Druckmann and TV series writer Craig Mazin mentioned that the second season of this show could include the events of The Last of Us Part II (I personally think The Last of Us Part II might include two television seasons). While the duo don’t want the show to extend beyond the games, there could be a way for the show to be more inclusive after the events of The Last of Us Part II. If Naughty Dog develops The Last of Us Part III in theory, it wouldn’t be surprising if the HBO show brings that news at the end of the road. Chances look pretty good when Druckmann says CHEAP that there are “many stories to tell” in the game world of The Last of Us.
Mazin also expressed his desire not to extend the show beyond the games in CHEAP interview, as noted by GameSpot, says he doesn’t “have any interest in a forever record.”
“When it becomes a perpetual motion machine, it can’t help but be… stupid,” he continued. “The end means everything to me.”
