This game fixes Myst by adding guns, ghosts and sick metal soundtracks
mystery is one of the most beloved point-and-click adventure games of all time, known for its meditative nature and profound storytelling. But what if you threw all your Zen-like discoveries about a beautiful, exotic island out the window? The team at Woe Industries was brave enough to ask this question and the answer they gave was mysterious FPS, a “point and kill” adventure game that tasks players with something truly novel – killing demons with guns.
You can play Mystery FPS on the itch.io site for Woe Industries. Game created by Peter Henningsen And Steven Nass, tasking players with the thrill of killing no less than 100 demonic entities. Meanwhile, there’s a sickly guitar whining while a guy chants “Myst! secret!“ to the beat. Hell. Correct.
If you fail your mission, the game will sadly reprimand you for not solving the puzzles of the game. mystery. A successful run ends with a congratulatory screen, then shares the link to join Mensa International, a club for high IQ people. It’s a short clip about a game that you can understand in just a few minutes, but it’s a pretty funny few minutes anyway.
Henningsen and Mass’ Woe Industries have largely made silly minigames in this style before, including Food Poisoning: The Game (“a game about crime, free will, and explosive diarrhea”) and is now a classic Chris Pratt is Super Mario.
