Today Hoda Kotb & Al Roker mourn the death of Mark Traub
The Today’s show is mourning a friend and colleague.
Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie paying tribute Todaylong time floor director, Mark Traubwho passed away on December 6 at the age of 64 after a battle with leukemia.
“A person’s life is bound to come once,” Hoda wrote on Instagram on December 7 next to the photo he’s standing on Today display set. “Mark Traub is that man. He’s been our floor manager for decades.. he makes us feel loved. I hope you know how much we love you. Mark. RIP my friend xoxo”
Al—who is currently recovering from a blood clot that kept him out of the air just before Thanksgiving—also shared a touching message for his late friend.
“The laughter you always heard in the background for years on @todayshow was our stage manager, @mtraub2295 and by the time he retired some of our sparks have waned,” he wrote. next to a photo his and Mark’s hugging. “Sadly, that light is gone after a long battle. Be careful, Mark. I miss you so much.”
