Although it feels like we’ve heard about TV series based on The Last of Us For quite a while, it looked like the show was going deeper than we realized. In an interview with Limit lineHBO and HBO Max’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, revealed the show will premiere early next year.
“It won’t air in 2022 – they still shooting in Canada. I imagine you’ll see it in ’23,” Bloys told Limit line. “Craig [Mazin] Chernobyl did for us, he is a great writer and director. What I’ve seen looks amazing, so I’m excited for it, but it won’t be in 22. “Though it’s a pity we won’t see it. Our last adjusted for this year, it looks like things are still in production and on track to be completed around 2023.
Another interesting quote from the interview comes from Limit line ask if Our Last One billed as the next Game of Thrones internally. Bloys replied, “There is no follow-up Game of thrones. I’ve been here long enough that I’ve been through, what’s next Sopranoswhat’s next? Game of Thronesnow what’s next Heir. There is no next Game of thrones. ”
The Last of Us follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they try to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.
