ADARE MANOR (f, 3, Uncle Mo–Brooklynsway, by Giant Gizmo) established herself as a big GI Longines Kentucky Oaks contender when she dominated the four-horse GIII Las Virgenes S. Sunday throughout the length of the Santa Anita Stretch. Her odds drop even further with her stable friend GISW Eda’s scratch (Munnings), and the dark gulf is off at odds of 2-5 forbidding. Queen of Thorns (Violence) tried to make a race of it from there, but Adare Manor never looked back and galloped home about 15 lengths in 1:37.11. Queen Thorns eliminated Miss Everything (Tiznow) in second. The win was the sixth win in this race for Bob Baffert, breaking ties with fellow Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas. Baffert’s most recent previous Las Virgenes winner (in 2018) is also an expensive 2-year-old by Uncle Mo in the Dream Tree.
