US adds Russia, China to blacklist of religious freedom
Washington:
The United States has added Russia to a blacklist of countries excluded for “serious violations of religious freedom,” the State Department said on Monday.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that he had designated Russia, as well as China and eight other countries as “Countries of Particular Concern for having engaged in or tolerated ‘systemic violations of the law’) systematic, persistent and serious to religious freedom.'”
Nigeria, which was on the list last year and where Blinken will visit this week, has been dropped.
