Bell Textron Inc. confirmed that the US Army has selected the V-280 tilt-rotor aircraft to replace some of their iconic Black Hawk helicopters.
As noted by the company, it has been awarded the development contract for the US Army’s Future Long Range Attack Aircraft (FLRAA) program.
The award is based on Bell’s V-280 Valor tilt-rotor developed and tested as part of the Joint Multi-Role Technology Demonstration (JMR TD) program that began in 2013.
