Uzbek trade body, German firm to jointly set up tech training school

Uzbek textile products are sold in more than 70 countries, Shakhzoda Kuchkarova, head of the press service of the association, informed. The country’s exports in the sector last year reached $3.4 billion.
The Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association and Germany’s Textima Export Import have signed a pact to jointly set up a technology school to train sector specialists on both sides.
The Centrastex Trading House, Nuremberg, and the Sustainable Cotton Association, Stuttgart, will turn business platforms for further bilateral cooperation in the sector.
Uzbek textile firms have managed to enter Germany’s market and triple textile exports, and have created production branches of German companies like Teamdress and Langheinrich in Uzbekistan, an Uzbek news agency reported.
