Valheim Devs has no current release plans on PlayStation
Valheim developer Iron Gate Studios says that there are currently no plans to bring the survival game to platforms other than Xbox, including PlayStation.
In an episode of Xbox Expansion Pass Podcasts, senior developer Jonathan Smårs said, “We’re just looking at Xbox right now, but you never know.” Valheim is getting an early access preview on Xbox soon, and while Smårs didn’t enter into the conversations to bring the game to that platform, publisher Coffee Stain worked with Microsoft to do so.
Valheim is a the sleeper hits back in february 2021 when it entered Steam Early Access, even became one of the best selling game on PC storefront and sold out 5 million copies after a month of release.
It was later announced for PC Game Pass in 2022and then most recently for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, as well as Xbox Game Pass. While other console versions of Valheim are not currently being considered, that doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility that it will come to platforms like the PlayStation or even the Nintendo Switch.
