The ID.Xtreme The concept was unveiled to the public over the weekend at a Volkswagen ID gathering in Locarno, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
Volkswagen claims the ID.Xtreme is as environmentally friendly as a concept car can be. The show car features a used 82kWh battery pack, based on the body and frame of a test car in development.
While the company has made no specific statements about the concept’s off-road capabilities, such as its approach, departure and descent angles, or depth, the ID.Xtreme certainly looks capable. go farther from the runway than ID.4 it is based on.
The car is 50mm wider thanks to 3D printed wheel arch extensions to create a significantly wider track. The car uses 18-inch alloy wheels with high-quality tires and raised suspension.
At the front, there is a modified front bumper with the lower part painted in matte black and equipped with a push rod. On top of the ID.Xtreme is the roof and LED lights.
The body is finished with a gray, orange exterior wrapped in a white body. The striking orange color seems to be carried over to the interior, which also features redesigned seats and faux leather upholstery.
To give the car a bit of acoustic appeal, Volkswagen fitted a sound generator in the wheel housings and developed a special “driving noise” for the ID.Xtreme – one imagines it. will have a heavier metal sound than a syrupy ballad.
Like the regular ID.4 GTX, the ID.Xtreme has a two-engine full-time all-wheel drive system that develops a total of 220kW.
On the road, the GTX is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds. We imagine that ID.Xtreme touch slower.
GTX is said to have a range of 480 km according to the WLTP test benchmark.
