Wait, what?! The vendor on Lucknow Street is selling Lassi with Rabri in it
Indians love to experiment with food! There is a certain thrill in combining the two dishes that food enthusiasts are eager to find. That’s why so many street vendors around the country are creating new dishes every day. From Mirinda gol gappa, pastry ka pakoda, Maggi paratha, the list of fusion dishes goes on and on. While many such fusion creations exist, not all of them are delicious. For example, we all love tandoori momos, but our hearts flutter when we think of masala dosa ice cream. Today, we found another fusion dish on the internet that combines a classic desi dessert with a beloved Punjabi drink. Ice cream rabri meets sweet lassi to create rabri lassi. Watch:
In the video, we see the street vendor taking a giant utensil and adding yogurt, sugar, and milk. In the classic lassi recipe we never add milk to the lassi, however, in this unique lassi rabri, milk is added to balance out the sourness of the yogurt. Next, yogurt, sugar and milk are mixed together using a hand mixer. When lassi is served, a generous serving of rabri is added and it is garnished with dried fruit. No ice is added to this lassi, and it is thick and creamy. The video was posted by food blogger @foodie_incarnate on Instagram and it has garnered 1 million views and 108k likes.
