Watch: Desi mother teaches “different South Indian breakfasts” to her Dutch daughter-in-law
“Good food, Good Life” – we are sure that our mothers (all of us, in fact) live by this proverb. Without a doubt, delicious market food can never replace ‘maa ke hath ka’ a healthy, nutritious and delicious meal. But do you know what makes Indian mothers stand out? Their pride in traditional food as well as the urge to pass on cooking lessons to the next generation. Wonder why we’re talking about it today? That’s because a video was shared by a user on Instagram. It features his mother teaching his Dutch wife how to cook a “different South Indian breakfast”.
We can see them preparing some popular Southern delicacies, including dosa, idiyappam, poori, aapam, puttu, kulli paniyaram, and rava upma. Without a doubt, the food looks delicious.
But this is not it. Their breakfast ends with a cup of filter coffee. “Try to eat with your hands, it feels very different, it is best to explore rather than be explained. There’s more to the South Indian breakfast list but let’s keep that for the next scroll,” the person wrote in the same video.
