WBC Champ Yiliahn “Cobrita” Luna beat Mayeli Flores!

In the main event, WBC Women’s Bantamweight World Champion Yiliahn “Cobrita” Luna, 23-3-1, (4), of Durango, MEX, defeated Mayeli Flores, 8-1-1 (3), of Mexico City, MEX, over 10×2 action packed rounds.
During the first round, Flores chased the much taller Luna, landing with a punch before Luna’s counter-jab. In the final minute of the second round, a left hook from Luna to the chin knocked Flores down by 8 counts. In the third round, after a minute, Flores kicked Luna with a forehand right to the chin, forcing her to hold Flores.
In the fourth round, the referee deducted points for Luna for holding too much. Flores relentlessly threw Luna support punches into a corner of the bell. In the 5th round, Flores’ headbutt left a cut on Luna’s left eyebrow, causing the referee to deduct one point.
During the seventh round, Luna repeatedly punched Flores in the face, who kept throwing punches. In the eighth and ninth rounds, Luna returned; landing left hook on chin ferocious Flores, who landed with a right.
In the tenth and final round, it was the almighty round of both fighters. In the last minute, Flores landed more but Luna had more effective punches.
During the Co-Main event, lightweight contender Oscar Duarte, 22-1-1 (17), of Parral, Chihuahua, MEX, stopped nampaw Fernando “Trapo” Cancino, 11-10-1 (3), of Las Brenas, Chaco , ARG, at 1:50 of the fifth of the eight scheduled rounds.

Featherweight champion Edgar “Cruzito” Gonzalez, 9-0 (4), of San Cristobal, MEX, beat Augustin Perez, 6-4-1 (3), of Puebla, MEX, over six wild rounds.
For the first three innings, it was a frantic mess with the referee nearly getting hit by breaking a clinch. Perez won 2/3 of the round.
In the fourth and fifth rounds, Gonzalez played well against Perez with a hit under his left eye most of the time. In the sixth and final innings, both let that happen in a near-total match, with Gonzalez looking likely to pull it off.
The broadcaster spoke only Spanish and the commentators did not elaborate on the score or any extra time.
