Via Ken Hissner: My favorite historian Henry Hascup, the President of the New Jersey Hall of Fame, sent me a long list of top winners with a list of 207 boxers with at least 100 wins.
My list of losers with 100 losses, and some who have never won will be matched against him to find “Most Winners and Losers!”
Great Britain’s Len Wickwar was the winner of the list with a record of 340-87-43 from 1928 to 1947. This was followed by another British boxer Billy Bird, with a record of 260-73-20. from 1920 to 1948.
In third place from Wichita Falls, Texas is Wildcat Monte with a 231-53-30 record although Box Rec has him with a 229-55-41 record from 1923 to 1937. His real name is Monte H. Deadwiley.
One of the greatest boxers is Featherweight champion Willie “Will o’the Wisp” Pep, with a 229-11-1 record from 1940 to 1966. In April 1965, I was there. at the Philadelphia Arena when he beat Jackie Lennon, 8-10-3, over six innings.
I also met him and had a picture with him during a ring match in Philly. He once told then middleweight champion Rocky Graziano, who vowed to knock Pep out, that “you can’t hit me with a fist full of rocks!” It is said that Pep won a round on all scorecards without even a single punch! He was inducted into the IBHOF in 1990, its first year.
Fifth on the list is also one of the toughest fighters in young stribling “King of the Canebrakes” with a record of 223-13-14 with 129 kills, second only to Archie “The Old Mongoose” Moore’s 132 Box Rec lists him with 224 wins. He’s from Macon, Georgia. He boxed it from 1921 to 1933.
Holding sixth place was “Slapsie” Maxie Rosenbloom, with a record of 207-39-26 from 1923 to 1939 and inducted into the IBHOF in 1993. He left New York, New York and appeared in a number of films. and television shows.
In seventh place is another from the UK, George Rose, with a 204-38-4 record from 1926 to 1937, with Box Rec giving him 208 wins. The UK seems to have a market for former boxers with the most wins, like eighth place George Marsden with a 196-101-41 record with box rec having a 204-101-42 record from five years. 1927 to 1946.
In ninth place is Kid Azteca 192-47-11 of Mexico from 1929 to 1961. His real name is Luis Villanueva Paramo also known as “Kid Chino”.
In tenth place is another British boxer in Ted “The Aldgate Sphinx” Kid Lewis, with a record of 193-32-14. The Rec box shows 189-32-14. He was inducted into the IBHOF in 1992.
The boxer who is still the most active with just under 100 wins is Siriamongkhon Iamthuam, with a record of 97-5, the last match in April 2021 from Thailand against Henry Hascup.

Topping the list is Kristian’ Mr. Laight is reliable with a 12-279-9 record from 2003 to 2018. He has only been stopped five times.
In second place was Reggie “Raglin” Strickland, with a record of 66-276-17 from 1987 to 2005. He is from Indianapolis, Indiana and his last win was in 2004 against Tyrone Roberts, 6-0. .
Third on the list is the UK’s Peter “Professor” Buckley, with a 32-256-12 record from 1989 to 2008, final victory over Matin Mohammed, 0-1.
The only active boxer in the top 10 is Kevin McCauley of the United Kingdom, with a record of 15-224-12 from 2008 to March 2022. Fifth is Jason Nesbitt of the United Kingdom, with a record of 10-198. -4 from 2000 to 2016. Sixth was ‘Smokin’ Ibrar Riyaz of Great Britain, with a 6-180-4 record of just four stops.
In seventh place is Tiger Bert Ison of the United Kingdom with a record of 116-184-40 from 1928 to 1939. In eighth place is Arnold Sheppard of the United Kingdom, with a record of 98-172-39 from 1926. to 139.
In ninth place is Simmie Black (Fred Johnson), with 33-170-3 from 1926 to 1939, and from Little Rock, Arkansas. He was stopped 99 times. He has won his last four matches.
In 10th place is Donnie “The Spoiler” Penelton, with a 13-167-6 record from 1990 to 2009, winning the first four. He’s from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Other losing records that stand out are Bheki ‘Becks- Tiger’ Moyo from Zimbabwe leaving the UK with a 0-73-2 record stopping only six times between 2005 and 2015. Coming from Romania is Alexandru Manea, with a winning streak. volume 0-54. from 2000 to 2013. The person who could still be active from Romania is Marius Petre Sorin with a 0-48-2 record from 1997 to June 2021.
Still in action is Milan Ruso from the Czech Republic, with a 1-62 record from 2009 to February 2022.
