Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said on Sunday he would study Sanskrit and obtain a doctorate in Mahabharata as he announced the establishment of a research center on the Hindu Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagvad Gita texts.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a Bhagwan Parshuram Taposthal here, he also compared the SAD patriarch Parkash Singh Badal to Dhritarashtra of Mahabharata, saying “putra moh” (blind love) is for his son. led to the “ruin” of the party.
The minister said the research center will present the messages of the three Hindu texts.

He said they have a close relationship with the Brahmin community in terms of affection with the Brahmin community.
Mr. Channi said he would study Sanskrit and then get a doctorate in Mahabharata.
“I was instructed by a very wise and learned man to learn one shloka of the Bhagavad Gita every day to make my life meaningful and right. Gita updesh is unparalleled. Current PhD. mine will be completed in three months. After that, I will start studying Sanskrit and do a PhD in Mahabharata,” he added.
The Premier added that to ensure proper care of stray cattle in the state, the Brahmin Welfare Department will be assigned this task.
He said the board would provide funds to take care of lost cattle.
It takes hours, he said, to solve one of these major social problems.
The minister also said his government will develop the “monument” of Bhagwan Parshuram as a modern architectural wonder.
Mr. Channi added that a check of Rs 10 has been delivered to the district government and other funds whenever needed will be sent out.
Mr. Channi said Rs 75 lakh will be spent on developing a site related to Mata Renuka, mother of Lord Parshuram.
Referring to the example of Mahabharata making a violent attack on Akalis, the Minister said the “Kauravas” were ruined due to the “putra moh” of King Dhritarashtra.
In the same way, he says that Akalis is in turmoil due to the “love” of Parkash Singh Badal, the head of Akali, for his son.
Mr. Channi said the Mahabharata was a treatise related to handicrafts and is still relevant today, “adding the ‘poverty situation’ of Akali Dal as an example of that.
Criticizing Aam Party leader Aadmi Arvind Kejriwal for his “little understanding” of the state, Mr Channi said that the Delhi CM was “groping in the dark to fulfill his lust for power”.
He said that apart from being an outsider, Mr. Kejriwal was a “rumourman” who knew nothing about the state but pointed his nose at everything.
Such “cheap” politics, he said, would never succeed in the state.
The minister said he was very lucky to be favorably bestowed by the National Assembly leadership to bestow this position on him to serve the state.
To pay their respects to Lord Parshuram, the chief minister urged people to instill the ideals he propagated so that justice and equality would be guaranteed in society.
He said that Bhagwan Parshuram represents the defense of the basic tenets of religion, truth, universal love, compassion and reason.
