AMC Theaters and Sony Pictures have decided to award non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to those who pre-purchase or pre-order their opening day tickets to see Spider-Man: No Way Home. Up to 86,000 NFTs will be made available to AMC Stubs Premiere, A-List and Investor Connect members who are the first to purchase opening day tickets, or in the case of AMC Stubs A-List members who are the first to book. in front of their seats, at any and all AMC Theaters USA locations. More than 100 NFT designs will be available, specially designed by the animation studio, Cub Studios, who have received BAFTA and Lovie awards for their work in the past.
According to the press release of the announcement, NFT The giveaway will only be valid for tickets purchased or booked in advance for the December 16 showtime in all formats. To be eligible for the NFT, tickets must be purchased or booked in advance by members of AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere or Investor Connect on the AMC Theaters website or on the AMC mobile app.
Such members must have an AMC Stubs account number associated with the transaction and movie tickets must be scanned at the theater upon arrival. If the ticket purchase is refunded or the ticket is unused or not scanned, the NFT code will not be delivered.
With only 86,000 NFT available through this special promotion, these tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Those willing to use all of these limited NFTs should note that the NFT code and redemption instructions will be emailed to eligible people on December 22, and the NFT must be redeemed by March 1. year 2022.
Spider-Man NFT will be available to redeem at a dedicated website operated by WAX – an energy efficient, low carbon footprint blockchain that is the first to be certified carbon neutral. Although this is the first time that NFT has been offered by a major cinema, it is not surprising to see Theater AMC seize the opportunity first.
