BharatPe CEO Apologizes For Misleading Social Media Posts About Former Company Chief, Not Paying
Fintech company Bharatpe CEO Suhail Sameer on Thursday apologized for his remarks in a social media post that allegedly indicated that former company director Ashneer Grover had stolen money from the company and There is little money left to pay employees.
ONE Bharatpe staff in one Linkedin the post raised the issue of administrative staff termination and nonpayment, which drew a response from Grover and CEO Sameer.
In response to a comment by a social media user named Aashima Grover, Sameer said, “Behen- tere bhai ne saara paisa chura liya (Sister, your brother stole all the money). There is very little left to pay.” .
The comment was criticized by many on social media.
Sameer later apologized for his comment.
“Guys – I’m sorry to upset many of you. Looking back it’s been out of line. We’re working to pay our former employees full and final pay. My comment is react to a specific statement, not a post. But I accept mistakes. I ask that you also be patient and avoid building a story based on a false story,” he said in a post on Linkedin.
Karan Sarki, the company’s associate on Linkedin raised the issue of firing former employees and not paying them.
“We still have not received salary for March despite following up many times via email and visit the office. All former admin staff of BharatPe have been fired by you without giving reason and their salary. still unpaid. We have been with BharatPe since the Company’s inception and now we are nowhere because of your internal politics,” Sarki said.
He said the employees spent their own money on sundry company expenses and the bills had not been reimbursed since December.
“All BharatPe employees are enjoying a paid office trip to Goa and we tackle the employees who are struggling for their pay and jobs. What type of leader are you,” Sarki said. .
However, Bharatpe denied the accusations on social media of not paying employees.
“BharatPe vehemently denies any comments on social media claiming that the company has not paid its employees. All the company’s employees have been paid their full March salary. According to company policy, Service employees during their notice will receive the company said in a statement.
Ashneer Grover responded to the post and flagged it to Sameer and BharatPe’s head of financial control Hersimran Kaur to deal with the salary payment issue.
