Dionnee Harper named Executive Vice President of Marketing and Artist Development at Warner Records
Long time Atlantic Profile CEO Dionnee Harper will join Warner Records is the Executive Vice President of Artist Marketing & Development, effective September 15.
The widely respected CEO is currently Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at Warner Music Group sister company Atlantic Records.
According to a press release announcing Harper’s appointment, Mark Flaherty, current EVP of Warner Records, Chief Marketing Officer, has decided to leave the company. He will stay in his position until Harper arrives this fall.
In her new post, Harper will oversee Warner’s marketing strategy across all genres, while working closely with various divisions of the company.
She will move from New York to the label Downtown Headquartered in Los Angeles and reporting to Warner Records Co-President and COO Tom Corson.
Today’s news follows other Warner Records A&R moves late last year, with Karen Kwak named Executive Vice President/Head of A&R at Warner Records in October and Steve “Steve-O” Carless appoint President of A&R in September.
Throughout her career, Harper has worked closely with artists such as Charlie Puth, Kevin Gates, Kehlani, BoB, Flo Rida, and many more.
She also served as Atlantic’s chief liaison with Mike Caren’s . APG label.
Atlantic says that Harper has played a key role in shaping its Black Music division, and the label also says that she is an “influential guide and mentor to the next generation of executives.” Atlantic”.
Harper has spent her entire 22-year career with Warner Music Group, and with her new appointment at Warner Records, she will work at all three of the company’s top labels.
Right after graduating from college, she joined Elektra Entertainment Group while training in 2000.
Just a month later, she was hired as an assistant in the label’s Urban/Mixshow Promotions Department.
In 2004, when Elektra merged with Atlantic Records, she became the Urban Marketing Coordinator, advancing to Product Manager, Senior Director, Vice President, and her current SVP position.
Along with the news of Harper’s date, it was announced that Chris mapWarner’s EVP Urban Music & Marketing, who recently moved to New York City, will take on a new role at the label, which will be revealed shortly.
