Everyone’s golf online server will be down in September
If you’ve hit the links online in Everybody’s Golf, your days on the field are now numbered. Sony has announced that the online servers for the 2017 title will be shutting down later this year.
The outage happened on September 30, according to the message that appears when you access the game PlayStation Store Page. It also says that “all online features (including online multiplayer) will cease on that date. You can still play and enjoy the game in offline single player mode. ”
That means Everybody Golf will lose its online open-course discovery feature, where players can freely roam the courses and socialize with other players. It also allows players to participate in non-golf activities like fishing and swimming. Competitive options like the game’s Grass Mode and international tournaments will also be beneficial.
Furthermore, this also means that the following online dependency titles will no longer be obtainable:
Platinum Trophy – “Push it to the limit!”
Gold Cup – “Walking Encyclopedia”
Bronze Cup – “Online Launch”
Everybody Golf debuted in August 2017 and was the first entry to mark North America’s Golf Hot Shots franchise (it’s always been Everybody’s Golf in Japan). While it’s not exactly a feature hole or depth of the box, it’s sad to see another online mode fall through the server cut. There is no official explanation for the outage, but maintaining the servers will cost money. One must assume that the online community is not active enough to justify keeping the lights on at this point.
