FC Cincinnati hires Pat Noonan from Philadelphia Union as new manager
The main football team of the Football League FC Cincinnati The team announced Pat Noonan as its next manager on Tuesday.
The move sees Noonan reunite with Cincinnati GM Chris Albright. The two have worked together at Philadelphia Union for the past four years, where Albright was technical director and Noonan was assistant coach under coach Jim Curtin. League won the Support Shield in 2020 with the best regular season record.

“It is an honor to be appointed Head Coach of FC Cincinnati,” Noonan said in a statement. “Thanks to Chris, Jeff Berding, Carl H. Lindner III and the ownership team for placing their trust in me. I am delighted to take this opportunity at FC Cincinnati and get started.”
Before working in Philadelphia, Noonan was an assistant of LA Galaxy, worked under Bruce Arena from 2013-16. He then followed Arena to the US men’s national team in 2017.
“We are proud to introduce Pat as the new head coach of FC Cincinnati,” said Albright. “He has demonstrated a successful coaching track record and we are delighted to bring his leadership to FC Cincinnati.”
As a player, Noonan has spent most of his professional career in New England Revolution, where he made 135 league and playoff appearances, scoring 42 goals and providing 30 assists in five seasons. During his time with Revs, Noonan was on three teams that reached the finals of the MLS Cup and won the 2007 US Open.
After a brief stay in Norway with Aalesund, he started with Columbus Crew, where he was part of their 2008 team that won the MLS Cup and the Shield of Support. He then went on to play with the Seattle Sounders, Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy, where he was part of the team that won the 2012 MLS Cup.
At international level, Noonan made 15 appearances for the US national team, scoring once in a 2005 friendly against Colombia.
