German Derby/Oaks closed on Wednesday
Nominations for next season G1 154 IDEE Deutsches Derby and G1 Henkel-Preis der Diana (German Oaks) will close on Wednesday. The previous contest, scheduled for July 2 in Hamburg, has attracted a host of notable entries, including Paul Vandeberg’s only gossip so far. Tiara Hilleshage (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}), is a purebred sister to the G1 hero Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe of the previous term Torquator Tasso (Ger). “She is an elegant person who, like her brother, needs time and the focus is on her 3-year-old season,” said coach Marcel Weiss. Another candidate to be nominated is Gestut Rottgen’sRising star TDN‘ Aspiration (Ger) (Guardian {Ger}), who still participates in Krefeld’s November 13 G3 Herzog von Ratibor-Rennen. Tiara Hilleshage is on the Derby list along with other peers Quantanamera (Ger) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), an impressive 8 1/2 length winner of last month’s G3 Preis der Winterkonigin competition and of Sunday’Rising star TDN‘ Naila (Fr) (Adlerflug {Ger}) with the trio also held entries to the Preis der Diana on August 6 in Dusseldorf.
