Honda HR-V 2023 in the US launched
The 2023 Honda HR-V for North America was revealed and, badges aside, shares very little with the third-generation HR-V, which is just sold in Australia.
The US HR-V is based on civic platform, while HR VUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Sold in Europe, Japan, Asia and Australia riding on a smaller architecture shared with Jazz/ Install lightweight hatch.
Stylistically, the US HR-V has a smoother and more organic look than the global HR-V, and doesn’t have that car’s hidden rear door handles.
Although some details about the car have been revealed, we do know that it will go on sale in the US in the Northern summer.
The US HR-V also has an independent rear suspension, LED headlights and taillights.
No pictures of the car’s interior have been revealed, but we expect a mature design – possibly high-end – with a standalone infotainment touchscreen in the center of the dashboard.
It will almost certainly not have the Magic Seats system, which allows the rear latch to fold and flip in a variety of unique configurations, as this requires the fuel tank to be located near the center of the vehicle.
Honda has yet to announce the US HR-V size, but we know it will be larger than the global HR-V and smaller. CR-VAT.
The global HR-V is 4335mm long, 1790mm wide, 1590mm tall and has a 2610mm wheelbase, while the CR-V is 4635mm long, 1855mm wide and 1679mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2660mm.
A new generation of CR-V is coming soon with a more conservative styling than the current car. Rumors suggest this car will grow a bit, giving it a bit more distance from the US HR-V.
No details have been revealed about the US HR-V’s powertrain options. Since it rides on the Civic’s architecture, it can be offered with the Civic’s 118kW/187Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel or the Civic’s 134kW/240Nm 1.5-litre turbodiesel.
The US HR-V will also sold in Europewhere it will wear a different nameplate and only come with hybrid powertrain.
If we were to bet, we’d put money on it using the 135kW/315Nm hybrid system from the Civic e:HEV hatch.
This powertrain combines a 2.0-liter direct-injection Atkinson four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, a lithium-ion battery, and a fixed transmission.
