How to Hide the News Widgets in Windows 10 and 11
You’ll notice a few things in this screenshot. At first, the app shows the current temperature as a tray icon — but instead, you might see an icon representing current conditions. Second, you’ll notice that I wrote this article during a bad heat wave, which Oregon isn’t really set on but is becoming more frequent.
WeatherBar is the best tray icon weather app I’ve found for Windows, but if it’s not to your liking, check out WeatherMate. This tool dates back to 2005, but it is a very lightweight tool for adding heat to your taskbar.
Hide news in Microsoft Edge
Disgusting news content also shows up in the new tab page in Microsoft Edge (which is pretty good if not). You can mostly hide it by clicking the arrow next to the word Content displayedthen click Title only. This will obscure all headers unless you scroll down.
Also you can install Inertia, will replace the new tab page in Edge with a beautiful image, a clock, and an inspirational quote. If that’s not enough for you, you can just replace Edge with Chrome or Firefox.
How to block threads (Sort)
Honestly: I’m starting to believe I can find a way to turn off the news without disabling the widget. Wouldn’t it be neat? My first attempt was to open Interest management Open the settings page on MSN.com in your browser.
