Singer Jessie J suffered a miscarriage but told fans she will still be performing a day after the news.
In an emotional Instagram post, she shared an image of a positive pregnancy test and a quote from poet Seyda Noir, and tagged her location as “heartbreaking”.
The 33-year-old said it was “overwhelming sadness” but added: “I know I’m strong, and I know I’ll be okay.”
In the lengthy caption, she wrote: “Yesterday morning I laughed at a friend who said ‘seriously, I’m going to pass my show in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience. pretend I’m pregnant’.
“By yesterday afternoon, I dreaded the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down…”
She said she went for a third scan, but was told there was no heartbeat.
Singer Bong bang bang bang said: “I decided to have a baby of my own accord.
“Because that’s all I ever wanted and life is short. Being pregnant in itself has been a miracle and an experience I’ll never forget and I know I’ll have it again.”
Jessie has previously shared about her fertility struggles and revealed during a 2018 concert that doctors told her at 26 she would probably never have children.
However, she insists she will still perform her LA show, saying that “her soul needs it”.
She wrote: “I started singing when I was young for fun, for soul filling and narcissistic therapy, that never changed and I had to handle this on my own terms.
“I want to be honest and genuine and not hide what I’m feeling. I deserve it. I want to be as true to myself as I can in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and the audience. my little one did it the best.
She added: “I know myself and I know I’m going to talk about it on stage because that’s who I am. So instead of a tearful speech, try to explain the energy. my quality. This feels more secure.”
“I’m still in shock, full of sadness. But I know I’m strong, and I know I’ll be fine.
“I also know millions of women around the world who have felt this pain and it’s getting worse. I feel a connection with those of you that I know and those of you who are my friends. do not have.
