A high-rise apartment complex was hit by rockets overnight in Kyiv as fighting raged between the Russian attackers and Ukrainian forcesofficials said Saturday.
Emergency services said the number of victims was “being determined” and an evacuation was underway.
They posted a photo online of the tower block with a hole covering at least five floors blown to one side and rubble strewn across the street below.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko wrote online that the building had been hit by a missile.

He confirmed that there were no regular Russian troops in Kyiv, but said they were trying to enter from many directions.
Kyiv, our gloriously peaceful city, survived another night under Russian ground forces, missile attacks. One of them attacked a residential apartment in Kyiv. I ask the world: to completely isolate Russia, expel its ambassadors, embargo its oil, destroy its economy. Let’s stop Russian war criminals! pic.twitter.com/c3ia46Ctjq
